It is my pleasure to greet vou on the occasion of publication of the third and fourth issue of our research iournal  "North Orissa University Journal of Science and Technology" (NOUJST). This volume contains the articles from Various disciplines of science and technology like mathematics, computer science; botany, Zoology, biotechnology, remote sensing and GIS. Our primne objective is to make this journal the image of the academic activities of the University and an instrument of dialogue amongst the scientists and the technologists of the country and abroad.

Our first step would, of course to make sure that every issue of NOUJST is published on time. We think that it is important to present articles on current International and National developments in Science and Technology for which this is our humble endeavours.

The articles in the NOUJST would be aimed at bringing out essentials of basic science and technology and importance of new developments. In the process of presentation of facts on various matters. VWe will see that the articles are readable by all.

I am quite optimistic that we can make NOUJST to influence and encourage scholars. students and people at large to be a part of the process of development of Science and Technology for the benefit of the mankind and create a scientific culture in the society.
